Things I’ve been loving over the last few months;

Too many new discoveries this year! From toothpaste to restaurants and everything in between, had to narrow it down to just 10 that I’ve truly truly enjoyed in the last few months.

1. Novel Beauty - Invisible Clear Skin Shower Gel - Before I even start describing how good this shower gel is, I should say that I have a feeling this product has been discontinued. It’s been ‘Out Of Stock’ on the website for months (so take it off the site? 🙄) with no restock date. I was willing to wait though because I love how this feels on the skin. I love the idea behind it as well. Really unique and quirky. It does everything a well conceived body wash is supposed to do; exfoliate, cleanse and clear skin. It’s made with all natural ingredients and smells great too, very lemon-y. I’ve had to move on to Shea Moisture’s body wash line but I still have the empty bottle of this as if me keeping it is going to manifest an earlier restock date lol. Here’s to having faith! UPDATE: They've restocked as of November 13th!!

2. Lush - Let The Good Times Roll - If you’re ever out in London and you get a whiff of this, just know that I’m probably in your vicinity, because this is actually my scent for life. I have been obsessed since I found this! It’s described as a ‘buttery popcorn’ fragrance but personally, it smells more like vanilla and sweet cocoa butter to me. Yes, absolutely a bit of me. It’s long lasting but not annoyingly sweet. I’ve been wearing it since the summer (literally on my 3rd bottle) and use it as my fresh out of the shower scent. I find the scent lingers the whole day when sprayed then. The only thing I don’t like about this is that you can’t refill them once the bottle is finished and it’s not exactly recyclable which sucks so I’ve actually just been keeping my old bottles and will probably reuse them for something else. Added bonus that boo, loves it too.

3. Dior Addict Lip Maximizer Lipgloss - Late to the party with this but I’m here now! I can’t tell if it’s actually lip plumping but my favourite thing about it is the minty scent and that it gives you the right amount of shine. Listen, I’m used to using hair store lipglosses and although they’ll always be my go to (that and my trusty Blistex) this is a great alternative. It feels great on the lips and looks good onto of any lipstick colour.

4. Anita Grant Hyaluronic Universal Finishing Powder - Another product that seems to be discontinued 😖 I love how the lightweight this is and how it glides onto the skin so effortlessly. It literally keeps the skin matte the whole day and even on the odd occasion where I did need to top up, because it’s so light it’s breathable and doesn’t feel like you have anything on. A decent alternative to this is the By Terry Hyaluronic Hydra Powder I’ve only tried it once, but it terms of lightness and look, it’s very similar.

5. Zara - Montsouris - All I’m going to say is if you love Bacarrat Rouge 540 but don’t got Bacarrat Rouge 540 money, get you some of this and thank me later 😘

6. Oral B - Gum and Enamel Repair Gentle Whitening - I don’t know much about dentistry or oral hygiene but I know that my teeth and gums haven’t looked and felt this good in a while! I love the fact that it does gently whiten the teeth but the main objective is to improve your oral health overall. I noticed that the taste is strong but pleasant and lingers well after you’ve finished brushing, also improving your breath. And it’s perfect for sensitive teeth. I use an electric toothbrush as well which has greatly improved my oral health as well.

7. Dr Dennis Gross Alpha Beta Peel (Extra Strength Formula) - Now I know these are a little bit controversial depending on who you ask, due to some of the ingredients and formula. However I’ve recently fallen back in love with them after not using them for like 2/3 years. I used to use these religiously for about 2 years because of my hyper pigmentation and then started getting into more natural, less harsher products. But my skin has been all over the place since coming back to London and I needed something I knew that was fast working and would get the job done and so I decided to go back… despite the price! Luckily I got a discount code to buy these and that’s pretty much what I’ll be doing moving forward because Dr Gross knows he’s tripping with that price point! These peels do work though so it’s justifiable… with a discount code!

8. Kem Beauty - ‘Hey Honey’ 3D Mink Lashes - I adore these lashes! Long, thick and dramatic! At first I was worried I was going to look like:

Because my eyes are so small lol but I think I pulled them off:

9. Netflix Strong Black Lead bringing back Black 90s and 00s sitcoms - This deserves a whole blog post on it’s own but evidently I just won’t get round to doing it. But I’ve fully immersed myself in all that’s on offer! I’m one of those people who prefers watching old school shows than what’s new so this was right up my street and I’ve already finished Moesha and Girlfriends. I’m on Sister, Sister now because I don’t really remember The first 3 seasons. As great as it is relieving my youth, some episodes of these shows just highlight how different it was back then and a lot of the problems within our community were discussed or handled downright poorly. For the most part it’s been enjoyable to re-watch especially a show like Girlfriends. I was in my mid to late late teens during the shows initial run so of course didn’t fully understand some of the subject matters and storylines at the time. Now watching a group of 30-somethings in my thirties, it hits different - and in the best way possible.

10. Breakfast Spots; Cafe East and Duck & Waffle - Going out for breakfast is going to become a regular thing for me once we open back up after Lockdown 2. The calibre of breakfast spots in London is so high. I’m very impressed. Despite the queuing for Cafe East, I can honestly say its worth the wait, you get a lot for your money and everything tastes exquisite for such a down to earth, super casual dining in experience. Speaking of Exquisite, Duck and Waffle is quite the opposite in terms location and venue. Gorgeous views of London while eating the most important meal of the day ANNDDD impeccable service from the staff. It’s the everything for me 😍😍😍
